Does Zotero support two-step/two-factor/multifactor login?#

Two-step verification, also called two-factor authentication or multi-factor authentication, adds an additional layer of security to your account by requiring more than just a password to sign in.

Zotero always requires 2-step verification for some login and authorization flows using the email address on your account or another method you’ve set up. You can also explicitly opt in to require the more secure login by registering a passkey, or adding/enabling a different type of 2-factor authentication in your security settings

Zotero supports several methods of athentication: - receiving an authentication code via email - using an authenticator app (such as Google/Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, or Duo) to generate time-based authentication codes - hardware keys such as Yubikeys (as either a second factor, or a full passkey) - passkeys for passwordless login supported by your browser or operating system.
