Aaron DeNovellis is a dedicated individual who believes in the work he does within the healthcare industry. He is currently serving as the Executive Director for Mirador, which is a continuing care retirement facility operating in Corpus Christi, Texas. He began working for the facility in September of 2012, and he has been drive the success of the organization successfully. Over the past two years, only half his time spent with the facility, he has been able to maintain occupancy at or over ninety percent in all levels of care. He is also skilled when it comes to managing and getting work done through others.



Being a professional leader can be a daunting task, as Aaron DeNovellis understands well. Depending on the size of your organization, you could be in charge of hundreds of employees, including other department leaders. This means you need to be in control in order to achieve your goals. Here are some tips for managers and leaders in the workplace.



As a manager, you need to lead with understanding and compassion. Compassionate, understanding leaders are people who can be seen as easily approachable by their employees. This is important if you want to be able to get work done quickly, catch little mistakes as they happen, and take care of inner office disputes before they turn into major issues that take time. The more approachable you are as a manager, the better you’ll do in the position.



In addition to being an understanding and compassionate leader, you also have to know how to budget. Part of your job as manager will be to make sure that certain projects achieve their goals without having to go over the monetary restrictions. Make sure that every employee working on a specific project knows exactly what their responsibilities are, and they give you an estimate of how much money it will cost to get it done.



Lastly, you need to be able trust your employees to do their jobs well. They were hired for a reason, and you need to trust that they’ll take care of their work. Don’t micromanage more than you absolutely need to because this will only serve to slow productivity. If you display trust in your employees, they will be more motivated to work their hardest for your sake.



Aaron DeNovellis is an experienced manager who understands what it takes to be successful in a leadership position. After having been with Mirador for only four years, he has been able to increase productivity and occupancy immensely.
