Shahadat Hussain
Dr. Shahadat Hussain is an Advanced Materials R&D Engineer and Mechanical Engineering researcher specializing in metamaterials, additive manufacturing (3D printing), and NiTi shape memory alloys. His work integrates computational design, experimental mechanics, and materials characterization to develop architected TPMS lattices and smart material systems for functional engineering applications.
He has over six years of research experience spanning laser powder bed fusion, microstructure–property relationships, mechanical testing, and data‑driven materials engineering. His recent projects investigate melt‑pool dynamics, microstructural inhomogeneity, and process–structure–property interactions in NiTi TPMS lattices fabricated via LPBF.
Dr. Hussain is currently a Research Associate at NYU Abu Dhabi, collaborating with academic and industry partners on advanced manufacturing, mechanical metamaterials, and shape‑memory alloy systems. His broader interests include scientific computing, data science, and the development of next‑generation architected materials.
Research identifiers: ORCID 0000‑0002‑4355‑2169.
