Robert J. Voss

My research explores the transformation of life in nineteenth century America as the Industrial Revolution reached across the landscape into disparate and varied locations as exemplified by the complex issues that faced Indian Territory as it confronted railroads, immigrants and the impact of coal mining.  These three components all affected the place of Indian Territory, transforming the environment, the people and the politics of a very different location at what would be the center of the United States. I am exploring these interactions by using digital tools to compose and investigate his field.
