Raphael Caire

Raphaël CAIRE (IEEE M’04, SM'2014, CNF CIRED 2012) received his Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies (DEA) and Doctorat de l’INPG degrees from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG) in 2000 and 2004. He had been working in Power Electronic field, in USA at the Center of Power Electronic System (CPES www.cpes.vt.edu) in 2000 and within several EDF research centers in Germany (www.eifer.org) and in France from 2004 to 2006. He is now associate professor at Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble-InP www.grenoble-inp.fr) at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Energie, l'Eau et l'Environnement (ENSE3 ense3.grenoble-inp.fr) in the Grenoble Electrical Engineering laboratory (G2Elab). His research is centered on the impacts, production control of dispersed generation on distribution system and critical infrastructures. From an international research action point of view, Raphael Caire have been participating in various European Project about Smart Grids as well as Future Internet for Energy Infrastructure. He is coordinating the European Project Dream (see http://www.dream-smartgrid.eu/) focusing on new dynamic distributed architecture to enhance the renewable interconnection and increase the market participation of Decentralized Energy Resources while supporting the DSO in the active management of the grid under various operating conditions. He is also the coordinator of the International Master Smart Grid and Building in the ENSE3 (master-smartgrid-energy.grenoble-inp.fr), master included in the KIC Innoenergy EIT EU action about Smart Grids and Renewable intergration.
