Prash Naidu
Hi there, thank you for stopping by. While my Zotero bibliography gets organized [soon!] here's a short note about myself and my interests.
I'm a PhD candidate in the Anthropology Department at the University of Michigan. I'm active in sociocultural, linguistic, and medical anthropology.
My dissertation project, drawn from ethnographic fieldwork with Mambai cultural groups along the southwest coast and in the central highlands of East Timor is concerned with topics including the semiotics of olfaction and the senses, kinship and the ends and beginnings of life, placemaking, wayfinding, and experiencing loss.
Also:
participatory land and pollution mapping amidst extractive industries and land appropriation;
sociocultural and bio-dynamics of spear fishing; and
artisinal palm wine production.
