The Mabinogi are the earliest prose stories of Britain c.1100, intricate, profound literature, yet easily delighting a child. Moraity (peace, respect for women, good governance, rationality) quietly underlie its complex characters. They entrance with magical transformations, dirty politics, ancient myth, wry humour.

The Mabinogi lacks the priority it deserves because it was composed in Welsh, the ancestral language of Britain. (Many translations have appeared since the 19thC.)

My PhD centres Rhiannon, leading protagonist, fascinating in her own right, formidable,political, magical, and a tour guide to Mabinogi worlds. It's a feminist project. I give Rhiannon's voice, her kindred, compare other Mabinogi women, do structural analysis, trace myth, goddess & thealogy.
