Merlyn Driver
A recent graduate in social anthropology, I am passionate about music and the arts as well as the wider connections between culture and nature.
While studying at the University of St Andrews (2008 - 2012) I travelled to the Norwegian Arctic in order to research the traditional music of the Sámi people (in particular, a form of vocal expression known as 'joik'). This gave me the perfect opportunity to combine my interest in natural environments with an exploration of Arctic music.
As well as working on my own compositions, I am currently planning a long-term writing, research, and recording project that will explore connections between music and the environment in the Mediterranean.
