Matt Miller
I earned a Ph.D. in American Studies in 2009 at the Graduate Institute of the Liberal Arts at Emory University, and am revising my dissertation, "Bounce: Rap Music and Local Identity in New Orleans, 1980-2005," for publication by the University of Massachusetts Press. In my work, I explore the history of popular music and its relationship with society, culture, experience and consciousness. I am also interested in documentary film and its applications in the field of popular music studies.
