Mah Boon Yih is a full-time lecturer at Academy of Language Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Penang Campus in Penang, Malaysia. Before this, he has taught in Kedah Matriculation College, OUM, and UUM. He holds two degrees: B.A. Ed. (Hons) in ELS from USM and M.A. (Applied Linguistics) from UUM. He has registered with IACSIT, AsiaCALL, Asia TEFL, MELTA, and PELLTA. He is also a language editor and reviewer of University Publication Centre (UPENA), 13th and 14th IBIMA Conference Proceedings, and CSSR 2010. His papers are available in the conference proceedings of CLaSIC 2008, ICSTIE 2008, CSSR 08'09, ICETC 2009, UPALS ICL 2009, ICeL 2009, ICAST 2010, & ICLLIC 2010 as well as national and international refereed journals such as Esteem and Asian Journal of University Education (AJUE). In 2010 he invented an English learning system namely myb2.0 ELS and the gadget of myb2.0 ELS called "Mah Boon Yih's Blog" has won him a Gold Medal in the 7th IID 2010 and ITEX Silver Medal in the 21st ITEX 2010. His fields of interest include ELS, ELT, TESL, CMC, CALL, and applied linguistics.
