I have been a faculty member at George Mason since 1992. I started in the English Language Institute (ELI) and was a founding faculty member of the Center for International Student Access (CISA) from 2010-2014. When the ELI & CISA merged to form INTO George Mason in 2014, I became an INTO Mason faculty member. When INTO Mason evolved into the Gateway program at Mason in 2026, I became a Gateway faculty member.
I have a B.S. in biology with a concentration in anatomy and physiology and an M.A. in literature with concentrations in American & British 20C literature and linguistics from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in California. I hold an M.A. in linguistics and cognitive science from Indiana University, and a Ph.D. in Writing and Rhetoric from George Mason University.
So basically, I love learning.
