Jonathan Sdao : Curriculum Vitae

Jonathan Sdao has long had a penchant for giving back to his community in a variety of ways. While attending Colby College in Waterville, Maine, Sdao was known in the community for his many charitable projects and his involvement in several worthy nonprofit organizations trying to help people throughout the United States and in his community. Before becoming an intern for the equity research firm J.G. Capital, John Sdao earned an Economics degree from Colby College and participated in several charitable events and organizations. He says that he is “passionate about community service” and that he has been a leader for “the Movember Foundation for three years and have raised thousands of dollars to support men's health” while in college.

Jonathan Sdao was a team leader and founder for the Movember Foundation, a national nonprofit organization that raises awareness of common men’s health issues like testicular cancer, prostate cancer, and more. His team raised over $5000 in three campaigns for the Movember Foundation. As a leader on the men’s ice hockey team for Colby College, Jon Sdao helped to align a hockey competition to increase Movember participation in the area. He believes the Movember Foundation is an extremely important organization that needs more participation and funding.

Jonathan Sdao won the Mal Wilson Humanitarian Award for his good works in the community as a member of the Colby College men’s ice hockey team. This award was given to him after his efforts to raise money for the hockey team and the college and improve the relationship between Waterville and Colby College with his “Community Night with Colby Hockey” event. He worked alongside the Colby College Administration and marketed the event throughout the town, bringing in 750 attendees and raising over a thousand dollars in donations and sponsorships from the community.

John Sdao is of course proud of his work with these community groups for the good work they have done. His community service work has also helped him prepare for his professional career in Finance. As an intern for the influential and profitable J.G. Capital, his future in the industry is bright. Sdao is always looking for the next community service project or nonprofit organization to help bring some good into his adoptive community in the New York City area. Sdao learned much from working with these organizations and met many people doing good work who have made an impact on him and the area as a whole.
