Hikaru Ueki
I am a Specific Assistant Professor at Kyoto University. I studied microscopic theory of the Hall effect and vortex-core charging in type-II superconductors, graduating with my PhD in 2017 from Hokkaido University in Japan. I also studied superconducting pairing symmetry in SrPtAs, a candidate for topological superconductors, at Hirosaki University as a postdoctoral researcher from 2018 - 2020. From 2020 - 2026, I worked on calculations of the frequency shift and quality factor of an SRF cavity and the sensitivity of an SRF cavity to light-by-light scattering in nonlinear QED, weak coupling of dark matter candidates to microwave photons, or high-frequency gravitational waves at Northwestern University and Louisiana State University. In addition, I studied the anomalous thermal Hall effect due to skyrmions in chiral magnets and superfluids. Currently, at Kyoto University, I continue to work on the research topics described above, including superconductivity, SRF cavities, dark matter searches, and topological materials.
