I am a cultural historian specializing in early modern Dutch history, print culture, and international relations, and early modern identity formation. At the Humanities Cluster of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences I am currently working on my NWO VIDI project "Inventing Public Diplomacy in Early Modern Europe. How Printed Media Shaped Dutch International Relations, 1568-1713" (2019-2024).
