Amit Gvaryahu
I am a cultural historian of ancient Judaism: I study money and its significance in antiquity, mainly among ancient Jews. In my work, I combine close readings of ancient Jewish texts with examinations of their broad social, economic, and religious contexts. Additionally, I work on ancient scriptural reception and interpretation and textual criticism. I approach Ancient Judaism as part of the Greco-Roman world, best understood using a comparative and integrative approach.
