Installing outside the Play Store

We recommend installing via Google Play when possible. If you can’t, you have a couple options:

Direct download

To install the app manually, you can download the APK directly and install it on your device. You’ll need to return to this page to install updates. Zotero will notify you when an update is available.

Install with Obtainium

To receive automatic updates outside the Play Store, you can install the app using Obtainium. Add Zotero as a new app with this source URL:

https://www.zotero.org/download/android/

To display proper version numbers within Obtainium, set the “Version string extract RegEx” option to this value:

(\d+\.\d+\.\d+-\d+)

Obtainium will automatically install updates in the background by default. If Zotero notifies you that an update is available, you can force an immediate update within Obtainium.
