Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto was born in Bantul, 1986. He works as Lecturer at Faculty of Law, the Islamic University of Indonesia since 2012.He was graduated from International Undergraduate Programme (S.H. degree), Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Indonesia (2004-2008);  Postgraduate Programme, Master of Law (M.H. degree), Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Indonesia (2008-2009); Master of Law (LLM degree), Faculty of Law, University of Debrecen (2014-2015), and PhD degree from Gèza Marton Doctoral School of Legal Studies, University of Debrecen (2014-2017). He received the Gold Medal Award (the Best Student) of the University (2008); PhD Scholarship Awardee, Balassi Intézet (2014), and Campus Hungary Scholarship Research Grant (2015).

He is very active in conducting research with particular interests in International Private Law, Immunity Doctrine, Diplomatic and Consular Law, Transnational Corporation Law, Law and International Relations, International Law, and International Dispute Settlement Law. He received a research fund from Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (2012), John Hopkin School of Public Health (2014), and Hungarian Academic of Sciences (MTA-DE Public Service Research Project, 2015).
