I used to find math boring at school and never thought I’d continue with tertiary education in accounting and auditing, let alone to become the financial director of a renowned removals company in London. I began as junior accountant on part time position, back then I was tasked with more mundane and basic things like chasing up invoices, balancing out weekly staff expenses etc. Eventually though I got the hang of things and got promoted, then I got promoted once more which got me the position of chief accountant (I prefer it over ‘financial director’ – sounds too posh).
