Carla C. Francisco

I am an art and cultural historian. I work primarily on Brazilian art and the Atlantic visual culture of the long nineteenth century. My research focuses on the theme of slavery and the figure of the enslaved in art, as well as academic art, and the training of the black artist in Latin America in the colonial and postcolonial periods.
