Overview

 

Arindam Basu is an Associate Professor of health sciences at the School of Health Sciences, University of Canterbury. He is a medical doctor, an epidemiologist, and a health services researcher. He is an ENT surgeon by training, and has a PhD in Health Services Research (specialisation: Epidemiology) from St Louis University. His thesis was on the linkage between environmental exposure to arsenic, dietary status, and patterns of health services utilisation among South Asian population. He is an internationally renowned expert in the following fields:



- Epidemiology and epidemiological methods, in particular in Environmental, Genetic, and Genomic Epidemiology.

- Statistical modelling

- Health services research and access to care/utilisation of health services

- Meta analysis and systematic reviews

- Planning and delivery of telemedicine and telehealth systems

- Software and data carpentry, R, python, software programming, cloud computing
