Biologist. Interested in adaptation and evolution. My objectives are to understand how changes at the molecular level influence the success of the entire organism. Projects include how higher vertebrates have become freeze tolerant, the stability of globular proteins, functional genomics of seasonal acclimations. Applications of this knowledge is (a) understanding of evolutionary biology, (b) tissue and organ preservation, and (c) crewed space flight.
