I am a geophysisict working for the US Army with mainly civil engineers. I am also working on my PhD at Colorado School of Mines. I am trying to use Zotero with LaTeX/BibTeX as a usable (& free) GUI front end to manage my research and catalog my references. I have tried EndNote in the past but wasn't enthralled with it, primarily because I think MS Word is useless for writing long technical documents. I used LaTeX for my MS thesis, but want a more interactive method to do the research and export it to BibTeX. I am also attempting to transition to a Apple Mac environment to avoid many of the information technology security headaches at work.
