Zotero에서 이러한 프록시 설정을 통해 보다 편리하게 이용할 수 있다. 내가 특정 사이트를 기관의 프록시를 통해 접근한다고 감지되면, 향후 해당 사이트에 재접속시에 접속을 위한 계정을 저장할지를 묻는다. 동의하면 향후 해당 사이트에서 프록시를 자동으로 사용할 수 있게된다. 이미 로그인된 상태가 아니라면 프록시 로그인 사이트로 전달될 것이며, 그 후에는 평소처럼 데이터베이스에 접근할 수 있다.
