If you like, you can set up shortcut keys for all of the actions in Zotero's Word plugin. The specifics steps for this vary depending on your version of Word. However, you can generally accomplish this by selecting the Tools drowdown menu–> choosing customize–>customize keyboard. This should launch the customize keyboard dialog box. There you can select Macros, and then chose each of the Zotero macros and assign them to keyboard shortcuts of your choosing.

In Word 2007, for example, the steps are: Office Button - Word Options - Customize (Menu on Left) - “Keyboard Shortcuts: Customize” - (In “Categories” Box) Macros - ZoteroInsertCitation
