William H. Rupp
I am a doctoral candidate in the Eighteenth Century Centre, part of the Department of History at the University of Warwick. My current research focuses on identity creation in late-eighteenth-century Britain on both a national and personal level. The basis of my current work is the travel diaries written by the Hon. John Byng (1742-1813; later 5th viscount Torrington) between 1781 and 1794.
