-=== Troubleshooting Sync Errors ===
-
-
-Zotero 2.0 is currently in beta, and it is possible you'll run into a bug in the sync process that prevents you from syncing your data. You can solve many syncing problems using the Reset tab in the Sync pane of the Zotero preferences. Selecting "Restore from Zotero server" and clicking the Reset button will erase your locally stored library and replace it with the data stored on the server. "Restore to Zotero server" will do the opposite, replacing the server data with your locally stored library.
-
-If a sync fails for some reason, the sync button will display a small yellow badge. While we encourage you to submit bugs and help us diagnose problems, if you just want your data synced and don't want to worry about what's causing the bug, first decide which copy of your data you want, local or server. To view the data on the server, log into your Zotero account on this site and click the My Library tab. If you choose to keep the server data, you should make sure you have a backup of your local [[/support/zotero_data|Zotero data directory]] before performing the reset operation.
-
-If you have auto-sync enabled in Zotero, you can avoid the possibility of it causing problems by accessing the Reset options upon starting Firefox without ever opening the Zotero pane. Go to Firefox's Tools menu, select Add-ons, and select the Extensions tab. Select Zotero in the list that appears and click the Preferences button.
-
-In the Zotero preferences window, go to the Sync tab and then the Reset tab within that. If the data you want to keep is on the server, select "Restore from Zotero server" and click the Reset button. If the data you want is on your computer, select "Restore to Zotero server" and click Reset.
-
-If you're syncing multiple computers, you may wish to do a "Restore to Zotero server" on the computer with the most recent data and then "Restore from Zotero server" on others (without first opening the Zotero pane, as explained above). If you have unique data on each computer, you can sort the items list in Zotero's middle column by Date Added and export only the recently added items to Zotero RDF, and then import them back in after restoring from the server. (You will need to relink re-imported items in any documents created with the word processor plugins.)
