I was in charge of development projects, some of which are budgeted at over one million Hong Kong Dollar (over USD 120,000), excluding equipment cost, from 1996 - 2002 and 2007 onwards. The development team for each project ranged from two to five developers. At any one time there were two to three projects on hand.

I'm most familiar with Java, including Java EE, Java SE, and Java ME. The development environment may have Linux, MySQL, Oracle, Spring, Hibernate, SVN, JMS, HTML, JSP, Javascript and so on. Spring and Hibernate are my favorite companions. I was dreaming for such things more than a decade ago ! SQL was great but too many repetitive things hinder development speed.

I'm well experienced with the whole development cycle with modern development methodologies, from business proposals, requirements to architecture, design, coding, testing, migration, and to deployment and handover.

I'm also familiar with "design patterns" (in the context of IT development) and in fact put them to use in my projects where appropriate. They too boil down to the ideas of better organizing things, avoiding repetition and making "similar" things happen in one place. These are not trivial at all.

I've also done work with VB.net, Windows 2003, PHP, HP-UX and Solaris

Let IT help people. Helping a corporation ultimately helps the people inside. Help them (including myself) do more in less time, or do less and have more time.

Current technologies are powerful enough to offer many solutions. In many cases, the above dream can come true only if firms are willing to drive and support.
