OO Plugin ibid not working

Reported by: stakats Owned by: simon
Priority: blocker Milestone: 1.5 Sync Preview 3
Component: word integration Version: 1.5
Keywords: Cc:

Description

Citations in OpenOffice behave according to the order in which they were entered, not the order in which they appear in the document. To reproduce this behavior, enter several notes using Chicago Full Note with Bibliography referencing the same item, but add them from the bottom of the document and work your way up to the top.

Actually, as far as I can tell, this isn't working in Word either.

Ah, that was a little premature...I was looking at the wrong style. It does look to be an OOo-only problem, probably because the citations have to be sorted in OOo and the sorting seems to be finicky (and very slow, at least in NeoOffice). I'll see what I can do.

Thanks a bunch. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.

If OOo-only, is this still a blocker for 1.0.3? Simon, if you're not going to be able to get to this today, I think we should consider releasing 1.0.3 without it, since people are really clamoring for 1.0.3.

  • Milestone changed from 1.0.8 to 1.5 Sync Preview 2

Pushing this to Sync Preview 2, since it will depend on Ben's work on the OOo module for the Python plug-in.

(In [3350]) closes #892, OO Plugin ibid not working
closes #940, Overflow error with many references in OOo
references #698, Migration away from VBA

Installer for the MacWord plug-in (with appscript for 10.5 bundled), and extension for OOo. There still appear to be some bugs in OOo bookmarks, which I'm looking into.
