Support for multilingual layers will be accessible in citeproc-js.
Here are links to the working doc on the subject, to the current processor tests, and to two forum discussions, one of which concerns the need for multi-lingual layering (with a link back to this ticket), and another which concerns the ability to rearrange or insert author names in the Zotero UI, which is the minimal UI enhancement needed to make the layering functionality usable for early adopters.
