delimiter-precedes-last="always" should not operate on just two authors, correct? With this parameter set, three creators currently display as
Jean-Louis Flandrin, Massimo Montanari, and Albert Sonnenfeld, eds., 1999
which is correct. But two creators will display as
- W. B. Brockliss, and Colin Jones, 1997
adding an extra comma which seems to be an undesired behavior

This is actually the desired behavior, because it's sometimes necessary in bibliography entries. If you do not set the delimiter-precedes-last attribute, you should get the behavior you desire.

Ah, thanks. I didn't realize that there was a third behavior when the attribute was left unspecified.

(In [1579]) - closes #700, Update csledit.xul to use new citation API (I think)
- closes #640, Improve user-entered text character handling
- addresses #701, Other CSL issues
- might add support for <text value="(text)"/> (I haven't tested this)
- fixes a bug where the document preferences window would appear when adding the second reference after Firefox or the document had been opened and closed (introduced in r1577)
- fixes a bug in purging deleted citations
again, this has not been tested in OOo or WinWord

- Resolution set to fixed
- Status changed from new to closed
subsequent-author-substitute does not seem to function properly. For example, try adding the following option to the new APA CSL bibliography section:
<option name="subsequent-author-substitute" value="---"/>
Attaching some sample refs to see what I mean.
With this option set in APA, currently displays as:
---. (1999). Food: A Culinary History from Antiquity to the Present (J. Flandrin, M. Montanari, & A. Sonnenfeld, Eds.). New York: Columbia University Press.
But with this option set, should display as the following, right?
Flandrin, J. (1979). Families in Former Times: Kinship, Household and Sexuality in Early Modern France. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press.
---. (1989). Distinction through Taste. In P. Ariès & G. Duby (Eds.), A History of Private Life: Passions of the Renaissance. 3: Belknap Press (pp. 265-307).
---. From Dietetics to Gastronomy: The Liberation of the Gourmet. In J.L. Flandrin, M. Montanari, & A. Sonnenfeld (Eds.), Food: A Culinary History from Antiquity to the Present. New York: Columbia University Press (pp. 418-432).
---. (2002). L'Ordre des mets. Paris: Odile Jacob.
Flandrin, J., Montanari, M., & Sonnenfeld, A. (Eds.). (1999). Food: A Culinary History from Antiquity to the Present. New York: Columbia University Press.
Please note that I am not advocating making this change to the APA style, I'm just working through the options for CSL development.
