r2296 is a branch build. Are you forcing install of a branch build or using the Zotero trunk XPI?

Even with [2306] I am still able to break autocomplete in Firefox 3 beta 3, though not as quickly and reliably. But by editing author, publisher, and place fields in succession over and over, eventually I'll get the same old broken behavior. On the other hand, I was not able to break autocomplete with the latest nightly build of Firefox. Do we think something has changed on the Firefox side of things between b3 and today that's helping us out here?

I don't know, but if you get it in a nightly, reopen this ticket.

OK, still happening in a few places. I can probably fix the large majority of occurrences by putting in the same workaround in a bunch of other places, but really it needs to be fixed in the Mozilla code.

Thanks for following up on this. Glad to learn that we can work around if necessary, but let's hope that we get a Mozilla fix.

Fixed by Mozilla. Leaving open so we remember to remove workaround when Fx3RC1 is out.
