Create Innovative Encore translator

Some, but not all, Innovative Encore installations seem to expose MARC data, for exporting to RefWorks. For example, at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the URL ​http://encore.unl.edu/iii/encore/record/C|Rb3149302?marcData=Y gives easily imported MARC data. Other libraries, like the New York Public Library don't have such secret URLs for MARC data. We could detect the presence of MARC export by looking for RefWorks links explicitly, but it'd be nice to have a universal solution here.

I'll start working on a MARC-based translator that tries to construct such a URL and falls back to scraping, however imperfectly -- then perhaps users at other libraries can advocate for the activation of MARC data access.

I would welcome to efforts of another interested party who would like to give this a try. I ran into some issues with getting MARC data to be parsed correctly.

I use the MARC export as described by Avram above. I haven't found an Encore catalog without it, (NYPL has switchted catalogs to the much superior bibliocommons).
