This is a patch that I described in the forum, implementing features that I have added locally in order to move forward with work on the Bluebook style.
The most generally useful parts are probably items 1 (multiple cites to the same source in a single footnote) and 4 (extended position support) and 5 (style-specific ordinals). Item 7 (suppressing the delimiter when a prefix or a punctuated suffix is used) is a change from existing behaviour, but it gives the user a lot of control over citation formatting with little added complexity. I'm fond of it, anyway.
Items 2 and 3 (alternative volume numbers for a set of book-length works by a single author) and 6 (container author field) are not great solutions, and will be unnecessary when hierarchical relations arrive. But I these in place before introducing a system to students, so I implemented them anyway.
The remaining items are miscellaneous fixes, some of which are tangled up with xbibio issues.
I hope this is more benefit than distraction. Thanks for all your work on Zotero, it's a wonderful tool.

I have extracted two discrete changes from the fat patch for consideration. The 00 patch was prompted by a user suggestion that struck me as a good one. It initializes the multiples box with the current selection (if any) when the Multiple Selections button is pressed in the plugin client.
The 01 patch permits a source to be used more than once in the multiple selections box. This is important for legal writing, which requires exact pinpoint references; the author may need to refer to separate portions of the same document for different aspects of a single assertion.
The 00 and 01 patches are against the current 1.5 snapshot (1.5a1.r3991). I would be very grateful if they could be reviewed for inclusion.

I have uploaded a discrete patch to the integration.js position evaluation code. It makes the following changes:
(1) Allows ibid recognition for the first of several references in a "citation" container (the current implementation does not apply ibid to any cites in multiple-reference citations, which is excessively restrictive).
(2) Applies ibid correctly when there are references to the same source within a "citation" container.
(3) Sets a sameNote flag that can be used to determine whether a note is in the same "citation" container.
(4) Sets a prefixPunctuation flag that can be used to control the formatting of some terms when they have a user-entered string prefix.
This extended positioning functionality will be needed for Bluebook support. There is relevant discussion on zotero-dev.
Thank you for your attention and hard work.

I have put up the patches to Zotero 1.5 that we will be running in our program at Nagoya University. Apart from hierarchical relations (anticipated by the unhappy changes in 07 and 10), this pretty well covers the functionality required for Bluebook support. When you have time, please take a look and consider these for inclusion in mainstream Zotero. Apart from 07 and 10, and possibly some parts of 04, _none_ of this is superfluous.

- Resolution set to wontfix
- Status changed from new to closed
This ticket is no longer relevant, as nearly all of the issues covered by the attached patches are resolved in citeproc-js.
I'm retracting the ticket by marking it as wontfix.
