Description

Volume numbers are ending up in the page number fields. See this record. For example try this book. http://catalog.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?DB=local&CMD=lccn%222004022106%22&v3=1&CNT=10 (Permalink http://lccn.loc.gov/2004022106)

This is a minor issue, and there's no way to get around it without switching to MODS data for LoC. The extent in 300a needn't be the number of pages, but there's no reasonable way for Zotero to tell that this is a volume indicator. Furthermore, a brief look at the catalog seems to indicate that number of pages isn't specified elsewhere in the MODS or MARC records for any multivolume works, so there's little we can do. Closing as WONTFIX.
