We should test performance with thousands of items in the Library.

I imported 1500 items from ABC-CLIO and it seemed to work fine. Still, more might be good.

There are some more performance/memory optimizations that I'd like to do before 1.0 Final (at the moment, for example, things are cached when first accessed but never released), but it'd still be good to do some testing with a massive dataset (and profiling with Venkman if possible) to see if there are any bottlenecks.
