Sean, can you reproduce this? I could at one point, but I can't seem to anymore.

I'm not sure if this is the same problem, but it could well be. I've found that if the border between the center and right columns invisibly extends into the toolbar. If the border is directly underneath the X in the quicksearch box, the slider cursor supersedes the X button, making it impossible to clear a search. This is in 1.5b2.1 and Firefox 3.0.10.

It's an intermittent problem. Have seen it with 2.0b6.4
