Tinnitus is a condition whereby noises can be heard in the head or ears when there is no noise in the external environment.  Tinnitus can be described as being either objective or subjective.  With objective tinnitus another person can hear the noise if standing close to the person suffering with tinnitus such as a medical doctor who is conducting an examination.
