Tonya Oaks Smith

Tonya Oaks Smith is a bit of a fish out of water in Arkansas, but she’s getting used to it. Give her five more years and she should be able to listen to the Hog Call without screaming in fear.

Seriously though, Tonya is the director of communications for the UALR Bowen School of Law. The Trojans, not the Razorbacks. She works on the web and with internal and external communication needs. As a Jill of all trades, she likes to learn as much as she can about every aspect of the communication business, so she’s also working toward a master’s degree in applied communication studies.

Before she moved to Arkansas, Tonya was a reporter and editor at weekly and daily newspapers in Louisiana. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in English from Louisiana State University - GEAUX TIGERS! She enjoys reading, those dreaded Sudoku puzzles, yoga, and jogging.
