TÉTÉNYI Tamás, 54, Hungarian, male, married. Economist, Ph.D. in 1991. Consultant, macro-economist, econometrician, trainer. Former treasurer and economist in commercial and development banks, former secretary, then acting head of the financial section of the Hungarian Economic Association. Ten years in the Civil Service. Former Deputy Secretary-of-State in the Ministry of Finance, assisting macro-economic consolidation, restoring convertibility and heading the team drafting the first macro-economic convergence programme in the mid-‘90s. Deals with structural and regional policies for fifteen years. Former Assistant Secretary-of State of the Ministry of Economic Affairs on development policies, heading the team drafting the precursor to the National Development Plan of 2004-06 in 1999. Former head of the National Regional Development Agency (VÁTI) managing pre-accession (Phare) and multi-regional (ERDF, ESF) programmes. Planning , managing and evaluating structural interventions since 2003, former head of the Strategic and Evaluation Department of the Hungarian National Development Agency. Consultant and programme evaluator in Hungary and Romania, founding member of the Hungarian Evaluation Society.
