Andrew Wade
Andrew is a strategist, connecting policy with design to optimize efficiency, scalability, and responsiveness in the built environment. Through research and contextual analysis he identifies trends within places to inform strategic planning. The goal of his work is to allow buildings, cities, and infrastructure to create prosperity through their functionality and holistic integration with the natural environment.
Andrew studied architecture at McGill University in Montréal and development planning at The Bartlett in London. After graduate school, he taught urban planning on the International Honors Program: Cities in the 21st Century. The program selected thirty-five college students from across the United States to travel through New Orleans, São Paulo, Cape Town, and Hanoi during one semester to study the people, planning, and politics of each city through comparative analysis.
As the J. Clawson Mills Fellow at The Architectural League of New York, Andrew led a project aimed at changing the way we think and act at the juncture of architecture, climate change, and economics. This project brought together philosophers, political scientists, scientists, economists, planners, and designers to question how society can move toward a radically low carbon future in the United States.
He lives in San Francisco.
