I use computational, cognitive, and other empirical research methods to explore issues—practical, theoretical, and pedagogical—in rhetoric and technical and professional communication. My topical interests include rhetoric in the law; argumentation theory; rhetorical genre theory; cognitive-pragmatic rhetoric; legal analysis and reasoning; and natural language processing and technical communication.
