I am an archivist interested in the transmission of papers, visual materials, and artifacts to archives and libraries as well the transmission of such items among families. Working on culinary history, on the history of family history, and on the history of scrapbooks, I am interested in the way certain materials are considered ephemeral and the ways societies act to make the memories of these materials permanent.
