This is an old revision of the document!

Why are my citations underlined with a dashed line?

You have automatic citation updates disabled. The underline warns you that the citation may not be fully up-to-date or correctly formatted. Zotero citing can become slow in very long documents, and we you were likely prompted to disable automatic updating to speed up your writing.

To update all of the citation in your document, click the “Refresh” button () in the Zotero tab/toolbar.

To re-enable automatic citation updates, click the Document Preferences button () in the Zotero tab/toolbar, then check the “Automatically update citations” box. To avoid accidentally submitting a paper with unformatted citations, we recommend leaving automatic updates enabled unless you find that inserts are taking too long for a given document.
