Soenke Appel was born in Hamburg, Germany, in
1984. He received the B.Eng. degree in Electrical
Engineering & Information Technology from the
Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Hamburg,
Germany, in 2010, and the M.Sc. degree in Micro
Electronic Systems in a cooperation degree course
from the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences,
Hamburg, Germany, and the West Coast University
of Applied Sciences, Heide, Germany, in 2012. He
is currently with the RF Technology Group, Siemens
Corporate Technology, Munich, Germany, as a Ph.D. Researcher. His research concerns RFID localization technologies.
