I'm a scholar of local, interlocal, and regional policy implementation and governance, focusing especially on land use and community development policies. My current work builds on the work of Wildavsky, Sabatier, Jenkins-Smith, and Kahan, examining how variation in deeply held cultural dispositions (values about solidarity and equality) links to variation in policy preferences and behaviors of elected and administrative actors, and to variation in lifestyle choices among the general public.
