Ryan Kuhne
Ryan received a BEng (2005) from Carleton University in Mechanical Engineering. During his undergrad he started work in the educational field with Carleton’s Educational Development Centre and Carleton University OnLine to help design, develop and support the use of educational technologies in higher education.
Currently working and pursuing an M.A.Sc. in the Mechanical Energy Conservation stream of the joint Sustainable Energy Engineering and Policy program, under the supervision of Dr. Liam O’Brien (Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Engineering) and Dr. Metin L. Yaras (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering). Ryan’s research mainly focuses on applying robust green design strategies to buildings in fixed and passive manner coupled with the integration, automation, learning and interactions with the buildings control systems. With this basis he will explore occupant feedback strategies and aids to educate and encourage modification of behaviour and habits with a goal of minimizing energy use.
