Russell Thomas

Russell Thomas is a PhD student in the Department of Computational Social Science. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Management (double major) from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He has 30 years of experience in the computer and high technology industries, including engineering positions in design and manufacturing, and project and program management in marketing. For the past 15 years, Russell has been a management consultant leading organization transformation projects involving both IT and process change.

His research interests include economics of information security, risk analysis, incentive systems to support risk management, innovation and transformation in organizations and institutions, social and organization learning, and reasoning about uncertainty. This involves integrating many disciplines -- computational social science, economics, information security, cognitive science, system engineering, decision science and risk management, and computer science.
