Educational Technologist - Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, University of Manitoba

Feruary 2012 - Current

  • Develop and present professional development sessions for faculty on the subject of teaching with technology
  • Collaborate with others to develop and present professional development sessions.
  • Determine types of professional development sessions faculty members require through tools such as surveys
  • Participate in other faculty and graduate student professional development as required
  • Collaborate with faculty members and act as business lead to implement new technology projects on campus utilizing educational technology.

Information Technologist - Faculty of Nursing, University of Manitoba

  • Container administrator and technical support for faculty members and support staff.
  • Teach group seminars and one on one to Faculty and staff on classroom technology including iClickers, Angel, D2L, JUMP and other software applications.
  • Assist with the training of new IT staff.
  • Create support documentation for users to prepare them for Microsoft Office 2007 and assist with day to day computer usage.

  • Create and maintain new Zen images for the standard operating environment utilized by the Faculty.
  • Apply updates to the Faculty web page using Reddot content management system, HTML and nTreePoint.
  • Provide post-production work on clinical course videos including editing, encoding, DVD creation using Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection and uploading to website.
  • Collaborate with University Teaching Services staff on projects including Blogs and Wikis for Faculty of Nursing classes.
  • Keep current on educational and general technology trends, security alerts and software updates with RSS feeds from numerous sources including Educause.

Information Technologist - Faculty of Education, University of Manitoba

October 2007 - March 2008

  • Technical support for academic and support staff in the Faculty of Education, St. Paul's college and St Andrew's College.
  • Maintain existing hardware and software as well as deploy new computers to users.
  • Install applications and printers using Novell Zenworks remote management and at the desktop.
  • Troubleshoot network issues including software problems, cabling issues and hardware.
  • Test Windows Vista for possible use in the faculty.

LAN Assistant - Extended Education, University of Manitoba

  • Effectively providing technical and consultation services to faculty and support staff by troubleshooting hardware, software or network issues while paying special attention to customer service and honing technical teaching skills according to user’s knowledge base.

  • Installing new network setups and upgrading older setups while protecting the integrity of the data and software during the migration.

  • Obtained multiple HP printer repair certifications for laser and inkjet printers as well as certifications for HP scanners.
