Robert Lane

I direct Penn's Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program, a.k.a., the McNair Scholars Program. This is a federal program funded and administered by the US Department of Education, Office of Post-Secondary Education, Federal TRIO Programs. The mission of the McNair Scholars Program is to bring about greater diversity in higher education by significantly increasing the rates at which high-achieving undergraduates from groups traditionally underrepresented in graduate education apply to, enroll in, and graduate from Ph.D. programs. The underrepresented groups that Penn’s McNair Scholars Program targets include low-income and first-generation college students, African-Americans, Latinos and Native-Americans.
