I was born in Spokane, WA, graduated from Ursuline Academy New Orleans, and from the College of New Rochelle. I met my Life Partner in Vermont while I was a Correctional Officer. We moved to Los Angeles about a year later, where I worked as an Armed Patrol Officer/Patrol Supervisor for a private security company. I deployed to the Gulf Coast for Disaster Relief with the American Red Cross for ~5 years.

I first worked as a Legal Assistant in the mid-1980's, when the IBM Display Writer revolutionized the law office. I did legal research in the Law Library; the Westlaw terminal was new and not inexpensive.  I will complete the requirements for a Professional Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program in December 2012, and I am looking for an internship in a Downtown Los Angeles law firm.
